The client, a prominent metropolitan university, was faced with a need for increased vigilance surrounding campus safety, and needed to improve the speed and ease of controlling access to locations across multiple campuses.
The interface needed to integrate with the current security system, and ensure an audit trail of changes made by personnel was fully logged and viewable.
The Solution
AN INTUITIVE CUSTOM APPLICATION FOR MANAGING CAMPUS ACCESS
Aspect quickly designed and deployed a standalone application accessed by URL from the university’s main portal site. The application design provided a streamlined, improved method for managing access.
- Security personnel can view and manage only the access points that they have permission to manage.
- Easy to use controls allow users to simply check/uncheck to grant or restrict access and set the time period that access is effective.
- Users can toggle between managing access by individual or by campus location, and can quickly shut down or open up access to an entire set of locations or individuals with a single click.
